Description
The Country Club of Scranton was created for recreational pleasures, social events, golf and camaraderie. It has a storied past that has been told and retold from the dining room to the grill by many an amateur raconteur. Locker room legends have been traded about bogies, eagles, and every golfer's dream, the hole-in-one. The accuracy of many of these tales is open to discussion since clutch putts, like prize fish, grow longer in the telling.
Nevertheless, it remains one of the most highly regarded private clubs in all of Pennsylvania, and specifically in the northeastern part of the state. Its 27-hole championship golf course, state of the art swimming facility and excellent dining reputation have allowed the Country Club of Scranton to remain near the head of its class for over 110 years.
